Description

Sheetrock Brand 13mm Ceiling and Wall Board is USG Boral's newest engineered lightweight alternative to regular 13mm plasterboards. Sheetrock has a high strength to weight composite design.

Scope of Use

Sheetrock is suitable for use in all commercial and residential situations provided that its specification and installation is in accordance with USG Boral Plasterboard Installation Manual — NZ. Where Sheetrock is to provide bracing to the building, it must be installed in accordance with the USG Boral Plasterboard Bracing Manual — NZ.

It is suitable for installation on framed ceilings, where the building design falls within the design scope of NZS3604, or AS/NZS1170.

Where Sheetrock is to be installed in an existing building, the installer must assure themselves that the framing and existing building are suitable for the proposed building work.

Limitations on Use

Sheetrock should not be exposed to sustained temperatures exceeding 42°C or to excessive, repetitive or continuous moisture before, during or after installation. All sources of moisture should be eliminated immediately.

Ideal for use in residential and commercial applications for non-fire rated wall and ceiling systems.

Statement of Building Code Compliance

Sheetrock Brand 13mm Board complies with the following performance criteria of the NZ Building Code:

  • B1.3.1 and B1.3.2: In respect of building element.
  • B1.3.3 (a, b, c, f, j, l, o,r) and B1.3.4 (a, b, c, e): Manufactured in accordance withAS/NZS2588.
  • B2.3.1 (a) and B2.3.2: USG and Boral have a combined plasterboard manufacturing experience in excess of 145 years. During this time USG Boral have supplied plasterboard along with plasterboard wall and ceiling systems for use within the residential and commercial sectors.
  • C3.4 (a): Material Group No 1-S BRANZ assessment FAR 4435.
  • F2.3.1: Manufactured in accordance with AS/NZS2588.

When installed Sheetrock will contribute to compliance with the following performance criteria of the NZ Building Code:

  • B2.3.1 (a) and B2.3.2. Evidence: In service history
  • G6.3.1. Evidence: RT&A TE405-05F02
Other Performance Attributes
  • Fire: Sheetrock boards is a noncombustible building product. It achieves a material Group Number 1-S depending on finished coating applied (BRANZ Assessment FAR4435).
  • Acoustics: Sheetrock may be used in an acoustic system to provide required levels of sound insulation to achieve specified acoustic ratings.
  • Sheetrock is manufactured in Australia. These manufacturing sites are ISO9001:2008 accredited.
