Fire Rated Door Sill Threshold
Description

The NZFD sill is an integrated sill effectively creating a 4 sided frame.  The sill is designed to maintain the fire approvals for the doorset while allowing a threshold detail that reduces any water ingress into the opening.

  • Sill in either Exterior Hardwood Timber or Steel Frame to suit application and fire rating
  • Standard designs to suit standard open in and open out frame option
  • Custom sill details an option where required
  • Sloped external section to prevent pooling water
  • Minimal threshold upstand to prevent trip hazard

 

Scope of Use
  • Used for all fully exposed or semi sheltered door locations
  • Used for Non Fire up to 240min. fire rated door options (steel frame only for 90min +)
  • Can be powdercoated to suit corrosive zone for steel frames
  • Designers can rebate the Sill can sit into wall elements

 

Limitations on Use
  • Sill and doorset is not tested to NZS 4211 for water ingress
  • The designer is responsible for the design of the opening and cladding that prevents water ingress.
  • No siesmic testing of exterior sill and doorset has been undertaken
Statement of Building Code Compliance
  • Durability B2, Exterior GRade Timber Hardwood or Electro galv mild steel
  • Sill and door set comply with the testing and performance requirements of NZS 4520.2010 Fire-resistant door sets

 

In-Service History
  • Timber sills in manufacture for 10 years +
  • Steel integrated sills in manufacture for 2 years
