Warehouse and Retail Air Conditioning Solutions

Rooftop package units with economiser cycle (optional for standard series), VRV AHU and AHU are generally used for warehouse/retail facilities:

1. Rooftop package unit is a system that contains all the components in one concise unit and provide conditioned air for large open space applications. This system can be also paired with Economiser kit that allows modulations of outdoor air and return air mixture for even further reduction of total operational load pf air conditioning systems.

Rooftop package unit (UAYQ series) with optional economiser cycle kit and CO2 control to provide high conditioned air volumes to large spaces. The economiser cycle can provide free cooling and/or reduced heating load based on motorised damper control for energy savings during colder ambient conditions. Available in Standard and Premium range. Premium range (UAXYQ series) is powered by VRV heat pumps condenser units.

Rooftop package solution may also include night cooling mode, humidity sensors and control, duct temperature sensors, connectivity to the third-party controls with basic operations for standard series and extensive range of functions for premium series.

2. VRV AHU (Air handling unit) is a system that pre-condition outdoor air for ventilation purposes as required by the Building code and reduces operational load of air conditioning system. It consists of VRV outdoor units and air handling unit (filters, heat exchangers, dampers, fans in a framed casing) designed based on the client’s requirements.

VRV AHU utilises the VRV outdoor condenser units and can be scaled to the required capacity of outdoor air processing. Two series available – Standard series and Outdoor Air series. VRV AHU solution allows to select the system based on the client’s requirements and maintain precise indoor air conditions.

3. Custom modular AHU solutions are also available based on project requirements.

Single split and VRV systems can be used for office areas, where:

  • Single Split is a system that consists of one indoor unit connected to outdoor unit and delivers air conditioning to single zone interior spaces at an affordable price.
  • The Daikin VRV system is a multi-split type air conditioner (one outdoor unit with multiple indoor units) for commercial buildings that uses variable refrigerant flow control developed by Daikin to provide customers with the ability to maintain individual zone control in each room and floor of a building.
Key Features
  • Optimised heating, cooling and fresh air treatment solution for warehouse/retail application
  • Internally engineered to meet the requirements of NZS 4303:1990
  • Suitable solution for providing air conditioning for large open spaces (warehouse, supermarket, mall, cinema etc.): cost effective option- Packaged units, sophisticated control- VRV AHU
  • Energy savings with economiser kit for Packaged Standard units, economy cycle for Packaged Premium units and heat recovery wheel heat exchanger for VRV AHU
  • Indoor quality control via optional sensors based on: CO2 control, humidity, temperature control with various sensors locations and modulated airflow via motorised dampers
Scope of Use

Scope of Use is dictated by required capacity of air conditioning system and design conditions that should fall into Operation Range of the chosen system.

Rooftop Package Units:

Standard UAYQ range

  • 8 models available
  • Cooling Capacity: 16.3 - 84.2kW
  • Airflow Range: 732-4540 L/s
  • Operation Range:
    • Cooling: 0 to 52 CDB
    • Heating: -15 to 18 CWB
  • Vertical and horizontal supply duct configuration
  • User friendly wall mounted controller
  • Belt driven supply fan can meet a wide range of supply air volumes and external static pressures
  • Roof or ground mounted: condensers and supply unit provided on a single platform for ease of installation.

Premium UAXYQ range:

  • 2 models available
  • Cooling Capacity:135kW & 180kW
  • Airflow range (2880-7200 l/s/,  3840-9600 l/s)
  • Operation Range:
    • Cooling: -5 to 49 CDB
    • Heating: -20 to 15.5 CWB
  • Powered by VRV Heatpumps
  • EC Plug fan and Inverter Compressors with Refrigerant cooled inverter PCB
  • Economy Cycle (enthalpy or Dry bulb) and CO2 control
  • Roof mounted: condensers and supply unit provided on a single platform for ease of installation

Standard Series:

  • 9 models
  • 15.4kW – 167.6kW
  • Airflow range: 900 – 7800 L/s
  • Operation Range:
    • Cooling: -5 to 49 CDB
    • Heating: -20 to 15.5 CWB
  • Combined connection with VRV indoor units possible
  • Entering t C on Heat Exchanger AHU:
    • Cooling: 20CDB/14CWB to 32 CDB/24CWB
    • Heating: 14 to 24 CDB

Outdoor series:

  • 9 models
  • 25.7kW – 202.6kW
  • Airflow range: 566 – 4550 L/s
  • Operation Range:
    • Cooling: -5 to 49 CDB
    • Heating: -20 to 15.5 CWB
  • Cannot be combined with VRV indoor units
  • Entering t C on Heat Exchanger AHU:
    • Cooling: 19 to 43 CDB
    • Heating: -5 to 15 CDB

Both series enable flexible ductwork design, long piping runs, outdoor installation can be achieved if required as well as custom configuration to suit site constraints. VRV condensers can be installed in independent location from the AHU unit that helps overcome projects spacing and weight constrains.

Package units are designed to be installed outdoors with its standard corrosion treatment and insulation. AHUs can be installed not only indoors but also outdoors with optional corrosion treatment and certain insulation thickness.

Limitations on Use
  • Min entering temperature during heating operation: Packaged units 16 CDB; VRV AHU  Standard series 14 CDB, outdoor series -5 CDB.
  • Rooftop Package units have basic functionality comparing to VRV AHU systems
  • Certain connection ratio and max piping length rules for VRV AHU should be considered and met
  • Daikin systems should not be used in corrosive indoor environments and high humidity applications (ex. swimming pools). For corrosive outdoor environments, additional treatment is required such as Blygold.
  • Outdoor VRV units are not recommended to install in enclosed spaces unless required air intake volume and exhaust provided to and from the space
