A high performance hot water heat pump that reduces electricity use, running cost and environmental impact of water heating by up to 80%.

Direct replacement for standard electric cylinder or gas water heater, avoiding use of fossil fuels.

Scope of Use
  • Suitable for all domestic hot water applications, residential and small commercial
  • Outdoor, low noise compressor and indoor/outdoor cylinder enable installation in medium density and apartment buildings
  • Suitable for all NZ climate zones — check with distributor for frost protection requirements in Zone 3
  • Compressor can be ground, wall or roof mounted (see limitations for distances)
Limitations on Use
  • Compressor and cylinder to be maximum 15m apart and 3m vertical height difference
  • Compressor must be outside building or in untreated space with sufficient air flow for operation
  • Cylinder cannot be wall or roof mounted
  • Power supply required for compressor and smart controller
  • Each unit can provide a maximum drawn down of 700L at 63°C per day

  • AS/NZS 4692.1 & .2 Electric water heaters — Energy consumption, performance and general requirements
  • AS/NZS 60335.2.21 Household and similar electrical appliances — Safety — Part 2.21: Particular requirements for storage water heaters

  • Manufactured and sold in Japan since 2003
  • Available in Australia since March 2019

    • EcoCute CO2 hot water heat pumps are 98% of all new residential heat pump water heaters in Japan
