Sheetrock Easy Sand Setting Compounds

Sheetrock Easy Sand Lightweight Setting-Type Joint Compounds can be used for a variety of applications including filling, smoothing and finishing interior concrete ceilings and above-grade concrete, taping and finishing panels in bathroom areas and finishing joints in protected exterior soffits.

Scope of Use

Sheetrock Easy Sand Setting Compounds are for interior plasterboard and gypsum fibre board. They are also excellent for patching and smoothing interior plasterboard and concrete surfaces because they provide superior bond, low shrinkage, and fast setting-action. 
Sheetrock Easy Sand Setting Compounds are particularly useful for urgent jobs, with a one-day setting time with next day decoration easily achievable.

Limitations on Use

Setting action cannot be delayed or prevented by dilution with water.

Sheetrock Easy Sand Setting Compounds are not to be applied over moist surfaces/ surfaces likely to become moist, or on below-grade surfaces/ surfaces projecting outside building structure unless protected from direct exposure to moisture.

Before using over new interior concrete surfaces, allow concrete to age 60 days or more. Remove protrusions, ridges, form or parting oils, grease, and efflorescence.

Prior to using any epoxy coating over any surface treated with joint compound, consult the epoxy coating manufacturer and follow manufacturer’s specific recommendations regarding the preparation or suitability of substrates for the epoxy coating. Many epoxy coatings exert significant shear stress on the substrate as the strong epoxy film shrinks while curing/drying. This stress can cause the bond of the joint compound to fail, resulting in delamination problems
