579 Caprithane
Description

A two component, acrylic polyurethane topcoat.

579 Caprithane is a 2K acrylic urethane used as a recoatable topcoat that has excellent exterior durability and is highly resistant to yellowing and chalking.

  • Fully tintable, available in a wide range of colours
  • Fast drying
  • Hard, high gloss finish
  • Excellent exterior durability, highly resistant to yellowing and chalking
  • Good UV resistance – contains UV absorbers
  • Resistant to a wide range of chemicals and cleaning agents:
    • 5% Aqueous Sodium Hydroxide – no effect
    • 5% Aqueous Hydrochloric Acid – slight gloss loss, no softening
  • Excellent abrasion resistance
  • Excellent heat resistance: 110°C continuous, 130°C intermittent

The hardener is based on aliphatic polyisocyanate.

Scope of Use

579 Caprithane is used as a gloss, semi-gloss, matt or metallic topcoat in multicoat coating systems. Also available in a clear.

Can be used on steel (including galvanised); aluminium; wood/MDF; fibreglass; ferro cement substrates.
