Intended to be used as either used as masonry wall systems of residential and commercial buildings, as well as use as internal feature and intertenancy walls.

The Masonry is for buildings which are:

• Within the scope of E2/AS3 (Amendment 9) (which is set out in section 1.1.1 of CCANZ CP 01:2014), and;
• Within the scope of B1/AS1 (Amendment 18) which for concrete masonry buildings is set out in section 1.1.3 of NZS 4229:2013

• The Masonry must be designed in accordance with the requirements of:
  • CCANZ CP 01:2014 (as modified by E2/AS3 (Amendment 18)
  • NZS 4229:2013 (as modified by B1/AS1 (Amendment 18)
• Where used as a wall system where the Building Code obligations of G6 Airborne and impact sound apply, the wall system must meet the requirements of detail 1 of Figure 2 of G6/AS
• For calculating the Fire Resistance Rating (FRR) for different Masonry systems to achieve compliance with C 3.6, refer to the Product Data Sheets for each product.
• Mortar, materials (cement, sand and mixtures) shall comply with NZS 4210

Austral Masonry Blocks will, if installed in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, will comply with or contribute to compliance with the following clauses of the New Zealand Building Code:

• Structure: B1.3.1, B1.3.2, B 1.3.3 (a,b,d,f,h,j)
• Durability: B2.3.1 (a)
• Fire Affecting Areas Beyond the Fire Source: C3.5, C3.6, C3.7 (a)
• External Moisture: E2.3.2
• Hazardous Building Materials: F2.3.1
• Airborne and Impact Sound: G6.3.1
• Energy Efficiency: H1.3.1, H1.3.3 (a)

• All Austral Masonry Blocks are manufactured to AS/NZS 4455.1

Maintenance:

• Inspect and wash exterior surfaces to remove dirt and mould at least once a year
