Commercial Cladding

Litecrete builds on traditional pre-cast concrete advantages by offering a lightweight alternative in the form of exterior and interior walls, firewalls, acoustic walls, vertical façade fins, and clip-on exterior cladding panels.

The precast panels form an integral wall — solid, continuous and airtight. The pumice aggregate and the induced air entrainment in the cement matrix dramatically reduces the weight of the concrete yet achieves 12MPa strength.

Litecrete is manufactured under strict quality-controlled factory conditions.

Key Features
  • Standard sized panels up to 7-8 metres x 3.8 metres, subject to freight considerations and design parameters such as window or door opening sizes
  • Litecrete will typically reduce the deadload on the structure by 40% compared to standard precast concrete
  • Sold at the same cubic mere rate as Wilco's standard precast
  • Litecrete can give perceptive designers an edge in a very competitive market
  • Litecrete is competitively priced with similar building materials
  • Large, flat panel faces require minimal plaster finishing
  • Weight savings mean cost savings
  • Fire resistant, moisture resistant
  • Built-in thermal resistance provided by the pumice aggregate
  • Acoustic systems up to STC60
  • 40% lighter than regular precast; density of 1450kg/m³ (28 days), with strength of <12 Mpa
  • Litecrete meets architects', engineers' and contractor concerns for durability, quality of construction, building with energy-saving products, as well as the projected future values of structures

Scope of Use

Commercial panel sizes are tailored to suit the project.

The design, application, engineering, panel sizes and installation requirements for low-rise and high-rise Litecrete commercial projects differ markedly from residential installations. Potential uses are exterior cladding, sunshades, fins, acoustic or firewalls and façade re-instatements.

All Litecrete prouct applications are subject to specific engineering design by a registered structural engineer (not by Litecrete) prior to lodging a Building Consent application.

Limitations on Use

Litecrete is compatible with other building materials and construction details showing transition from alternative products are available on our website.

Statement of Building Code Compliance

The Litecrete Construction System, which is subject to specific engineering design, meets the following performance requirements of the building code:

In-Service History

Litecrete (NZ) Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Wilco Precast Ltd, Papakura, a premier precast concrete manufacturer, which has been manufacturing precast concrete for over 50 years. The Litecrete product is subject to a 50-year structural warranty.

Other Performance Attributes
  • Litecrete has proven to have a superior initial and secondary water absorption rate compared to 30 MPa normal precast concrete
  • Litecrete 3000 x 1200 x 220mm thick panels achieve 640 bu’s (University of Auckland Inplane Test report)
  • Can offer cast-in surface textures and rebates similar to standard precast concrete. These can range from simple diagonal and vertical lines up to intricate patterns using rubber formliners. Band-sawn timber textures are currently in vogue, and can be supplied horizontally or vertically orientated
