Steel 1002
Description

Fireshield® Steel 1002 is a waterborne, halogen-free, thin film intumescent coating with a matt white finish, designed for use on interior structural steel. Fireshield® Steel 1001 is optimised to achieve and 60 to 120-minute FRR.

Fireshield Steel 1002 is halogen-free and designed as a decorative, smooth, fibre-free finish for interior structural steel. These attributes make Steel 1002 easy to apply and wonderful to look at.

Fully compliant for use in New Zealand, Tested to EN13381-8 :2013 and assessed by Exova Warringtonfire to BS476 parts 21 and 22 and 5Th Edition Yellow Book using NZS 3404: Part 1, 1997 and complying with the New Zealand Building Code B1/VM1 and C2/AS1-C6/AS1 Section C5.1.1.

A sprayed finished gives the best result for a smooth, decorative finish not usually associated with intumescent coatings. It can be brush or rolled on in small touch-up areas or areas hidden from view as a textured finish may result.

Steel 1002 is has been given the Declare Status and Red List Free by the International Living Future Institute

Scope of Use
  • Steel 1002 is an interior product for C1 internal zones and C2 and C3 interior zones with a top coat applied
  • Steel 1002 is an industrial product and can only be applied by registered applicators
  • Spray application gives the best decorative paint like results — can be brush or rolled on in small touch-up areas or areas hidden from view
  • Steel 1002 can only be applied to a primed surface
  • Contact Fireshield Technical Services for any project specific technical queries
  • The approved topcoat can be tinted to any colour
  • Achieve a fully compliant system using the 100% Fireshield system or one of the approved primers, Steel 1002 and an approved top coat
Limitations on Use
  • For interior use only
  • Fireshield can only be applied by registered applicators who will issue a PS3 at the conclusion of the project for Building Code compliance purpose
