Select Acoustic Lagging to Complete Your Insulation Package

Throughout design a lot of time is spent on the detailing of the overall insulation package. Including acoustic lagging of plumbing systems internally is often overlooked, but this small addition to the design can result in a great increase in user comfort.

Upstairs, or under slab, plumbing installations often require waste pipes to track above living spaces and this can result in intrusive sounds from audible flow of waste through the pipework system.

Allproof supply a Green Council Building compliant acoustic pipe lagging system featuring foil backed, fire resistant PU foam which is slitted to width rolls or into pre-cut junctions. NuWrap 5 will acoustically lag the PVC piping system and provide a building standard approved solution that is easy to install on site quickly and efficiently. This has the flow on of not holding up the linings or other trades in the cavity before closing off. The lagging of the PVC pipe will reduce the noise output from the plumbing system, often reducing the thickness of linings or addition of extra insulation to meet STC requirements. The foil backing is fire resistant and when set 50mm back from the Allproof passive fire solution makes a compliant insulation and passive fire protection system.

Nu Wrap 5 is supplied through Allproof’s national distribution network, with representative support for selection, ordering and install training. The product is currently being installed widely in rest home and multi-unit living projects to increase the comfort levels of tenants and bring the standard of finish to the highest level.
