TARC Snap Lock

TARC Snap Lock is a light weight, relatively cost-effective cladding that requires minimal maintenance. The exterior finish forms subtle ribbed lines as the system connects adding depth, shadow and interest to residential and commercial roofing or cladding projects.

The Architectural Roofing Company system is designed to sit firm and snug so interiors are kept dry and weatherproof to prevent moisture build-up as well as give building designers styling and design flexibility.

  • Gauges in 0.55mm pre-painted steel
  • Tray width sizes ranging: 300mm to 510mm

The Architectural Roofing Company supply and install TARC Snap Lock as a commercial and residential roofing and wall cladding. TARC Snap Lock is installed by a qualified team and used on buildings within the following scope:


  • TARC Snap Lock is installed over open purlins or cavity battens which uses a secret fixing clip,
    • for timber framed buildings designed and constructed in accordance with B1/AS1, NZS3604 and E2/AS1
    • designed steel framed buildings to NASH 3405, and
    • specifically designed buildings in accordance with B1/VM1 and AS/NZS 1170
  • Panels are joined by clipping and seaming and do not have any external through fixings.
  • When used as a roof cladding may be used with a minimum roof gradient of 3°
  • When used as a wall cladding TARC Snap Lock wall and soffit panel must be fixed over a nominal 20mm drain cavity

TARC Snap Lock is suitable for new builds that have been designed and constructed to comply with the NZ Building Code (NZBC) and existing buildings.

Limitations on Use

TARC Snap Lock is a non-trafficable profile. Once installed, it is recommended the product does not have weight applied to it so product is retained in its finest form.

Statement of Building Code Compliance

The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier’s installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:

  • Clause B1 Structure: Performance B1.3.1, B1.3.2, B1.3.3, B1.3.4
  • Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(b), B2.3.2
  • Clause C3 Fire affecting areas beyond the fire source: Performance C3.7, C3.7(a)
  • Clause E2 External moisture: Performance E2.3.1, E2.3.2
  • Clause F2 Hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.1
