Spectrum's Fin Balustrade Performs as Metal Feature Balustrade

The Clearspan Face Hung Fin Balustrade system is rapidly becoming the balustrade of choice for architects wanting to add appeal to the facade of a building. Common selection choices for balustrades are glass or metal. While Spectrum offers a full range of balustrades including frameless and framed glass, aluminium baluster and slat, it is the Face Hung Fin Balustrade that is proving a popular choice on many modern buildings.

The Face Hung Fin Balustrade acts as a screen and provides privacy to the user. Fin spacing can be changed to meet the clients' requirements. 40mm gaps between fins is a popular choice, offering a good level of privacy, while gaps can be up to a max of 99mm to give a more open feeling whilst still complying with the building code. In a multi-storey building, the fins can span vertically between decks above each other to act as privacy screens.

The vertical fins are attached with a proprietary bracket system to the face of the handrail and lower rail. This means from the exterior, all vertical fins are in the same plane. Posts are hidden behind the fins. In a typical situation the posts would be face fixed and fins hang over the face of the deck hiding the deck structure from view. Standard fin size is 40 x 20mm, while other fin sizes such as 40 x 40mm or 50 x 25mm are also possible.

The Face Hung Fin balustrade system is a practical solution to provide attractive, compliant balustrades that enhance the aesthetics of the building.
