Create Space with Potter Interior's Aluminium Bi-Fold Door Systems

Bi-folding stacker door systems are a great way to open up and maximise the use of an interior space. With excellent design flexibility of multiple varying configuration options, bi-fold doors provide the perfect solution to many situations.

In the recently completed Trustpower project in Tauranga, a four leaf Potter Interior Systems bi-fold door system was successfully integrated with a standard DS Series aluminium framed glass hinge door (with lock mechanism) for the Generation Control Room. Bi-fold doors were also installed at AUT South for easily adaptable classroom spaces.

Depending on the individual door leaf size and weight, this top-hung folding door system can also require a floor guide track. Using this option, the doors operate smoothly and certainly allow for much larger openings of up to eight door leaves each direction — as opposed to four door leaves without guide.

For improved acoustic performance, the aluminium framed doors can be fitted with acoustic brush seals (in between door leaves). When closed the doors close up hard against the brush seal along the head section. Glass type and thickness can also affect the acoustic performance. Selected DS Series door profiles can accommodate up to 13mm thick glass.
