After attending industry waterproofing training, Jesani identified a key issue with traditional linear shower channel installations: many did not meet current waterproofing lap requirements. In practice, linear shower channels must achieve sufficient lap to ensure the waterproofing system performs as intended.
This led to the development of the Jesani 90mm stainless steel flange, which exceeds minimum lap requirements and allows for secure countersunk fixing, providing a reliable and compliant installation.
Waterproofing systems typically require:
- A minimum 40mm lap for sheet membrane systems
- 50–75mm laps for applied waterproofing systems, depending on the system
Jesani shower channels are designed to comfortably accommodate these requirements.
Another critical design consideration was sub-tile water management. Over time, water naturally penetrates through tiles or grout and into the adhesive and waterproofing layers. Many traditional shower channels do not account for this, allowing moisture to become trapped, which can lead to deterioration of the waterproofing system. Jesani wall-mounted channels provide a clear path to drainage channel for sub-tile water to drain, helping protect the waterproofing layer and ensure long-term performance.
Every bathroom is different, which is why these channels are fully customisable. They are suitable for layouts with three tiled walls, two tiled walls and one glass wall, or one tiled wall with two glass walls. For more complex designs, right-hand (RH) or left-hand (LH) flange-down options are available to ensure a precise fit.
Manufactured from 1.5mm thick Grade 304 stainless steel (Grade 316 available on request), all channels are TIG welded and water tested. They can be made to custom lengths, with flexible outlet positions and a choice of tile insert or grill styles. Finishes include stainless steel or custom powder-coated colours.
Suitable for both residential and commercial applications, Jesani wall-mounted shower channels deliver a clean, minimalist appearance without compromising on compliance, durability, or waterproofing performance.
