VENT Passive Ventilation Products Now BRANZ Appraised

BRANZ appraisals for VENT’s popular Ridge Vent, Vented Batten and Apron Batten give specifiers further assurance of the quality of VENT passive ventilation systems.

“Councils have raised concerns about E2 — external moisture coming into buildings as result of use of vents,” explains James Johnston, Commercial Manager, VENT. “The BRANZ appraisal confirms compliance with E2 to give architects and builders peace of mind.” The appraisal also confirms compliance with NZBC Clause B1 Structure, Clause E3 Internal Moisture, Clause B2 Durability and Clause F2 Hazardous Building Materials.

Specified individually or as part of one of VENT’s passive ventilation systems designed specifically for different roof designs, these products mitigate the risk of internal moisture build-up and associated issues caused by internal moisture.

VENT Ridge Vent

Currently the only BRANZ appraised ridge vent for metal roofing in the market, the patented VENT Ridge Vent is designed to create negative pressure to draw air through the roof cavity, providing continuous airflow of 8,000mm² per linear metre.

VENT Vented Batten

VENT’s Vented Batten is the only batten in NZ designed with calculated airflow, specifically for roof ventilation. It allows calculated airflow of 18,000m² per linear metre.

VENT Apron Batten

The VENT Apron Batten is currently the only BRANZ appraised apron/abutment vent for metal roofing in the market. Specifically designed to ventilate on abutment details or be installed on a monopitch skillion roof detail, the batten ensures calculated airflow of 8,000mm² per linear metre.

Designed for both new builds and renovations and made from affordable recycled polypropylene, each of VENT’s BRANZ-appraised vents is insect-proof with 4mm vents preventing the ingress of nesting insects. The vents are easy to install and are backed by a 30 year warranty. Used individually or in conjunction with other VENT products, they help to maintain dry, healthy roof spaces.
