Personalise Elevators with Affordable Customisable Lift Packages

Until recently, the design choice for elevators was an imported metallic box or a bespoke creation that came with a suitably hefty price tag. New Zealand owned and operated, Powerglide has changed the landscape with the launch of their new affordably priced, customisable elevator packages, catering to both residential and commercial markets.

The entry-level A Series provides a choice of five popular colours and finishes, while the S Series expands the selection to cater for a much wider range of tastes and combinations. If the job calls for fully bespoke, Powerglide are able to accommodate even the most ambitious brief with their top-of-the-range E-Series.

While Powerglide is perhaps best known for their heavily customised statement elevators, the team wanted to find a way to make it easier for people to specify, customise and install their elevator with the convenience and reassurance of an ‘off-the-shelf’ locally manufactured package.

“For many people, the idea of building a customised lift to get the look they want is daunting, so they settle for importing a traditional stainless steel lift that may look more suited to a hospital than a stylish residence or upscale commercial environment,” comments Allan Fullerton, Founder of Powerglide Elevators.

In addition to limiting the design choice, ordering a lift from overseas comes with the risks of uncertain international supply chains, plus lead times of 30 weeks or more compared with Powerglide’s six weeks.

“Our new Series packages make it easy for people to create a look that supports their interior design vision, with the reassurance of a fixed price for our locally managed end-to-end design, build and installation service,” adds Fullerton.

“The impact of Covid-19 has already hit imported lift suppliers with a major importer being forced into liquidation,” comments Fullerton. “We feel for the buyers who are caught in the middle, many of whom will have builds held up by empty lift shafts. In these uncertain times, we are even more committed to maintaining a Kiwi based supply chain to ensure continuity of supply.”

85% of all Powerglide’s componentry is sourced from local suppliers, with the same high-quality componentry and hydraulic system used across the full range. Powerglide follow a lean manufacturing philosophy and have the flexibility to accommodate unexpected changes during the build process.

Their Commercial Elevators have all the necessary features to achieve NZBC Commercial compliance, as well as significantly lower maintenance costs than mainstream commercial elevators.
