Kingspan Architectural Wall Panels Specified at The Terrace

Kingspan Insulated Panels provide a weathertight solution for the stunning new hospitality development in Christchurch.

The Terrace is a hospitality and office precinct in development by Antony Gough. Currently under construction as part of the post-earthquake Christchurch rebuild, the precinct features Kingspan insulated panels and facade systems.

The innovative design by Jasmax included specific requirements for seismic movement, and the insulated panel and rainscreen facade solution provided by Kingspan ensured these requirements were met.

The project uses a mix of Architectural Wall and, Karrier Wall Panels overlaid with Corten hook-on cassettes.

The Karrier panel system is a proven factory engineered building system which comprises individual high performance insulated panels designed to support the Kingspan supplied facade. Karrier panels provide a weathertight building envelope in a fraction of the time of other systems, high levels of thermal performance (R-values of 4.15 in this case) and the tongue and groove joint achieve excellent airtightness performance.

Kingspan facade systems are specifically designed for adaptability and performance, so when the design of this project called for Corten, Kingspan were able to provide a solution that met all of the project needs. With a number of technical challenges on the project, Kingspan technical services were involved heavily with the designer, engineer, face engineer, and the contractors on ensuring the solution met the project requirements.

The ease of installation offered by Kingspan panels was also a benefit to the project. Dave Wayman of Wayman Roofing (the installer of the panels) says, "We have used Kingspan products many times over the last ten years for their performance and adaptability. The project's specific requirements needed a versatile solution and Kingspan panels fit the bill."

Kingspan panels are manufactured to ISO 9001 standards from the highest quality materials, using state-of-the-art production equipment to rigorous quality control standards, ensuring long term reliability and service life.
