Cavity Sliders Help Save Space in Bathrooms

Bathroom designs often have a long list of desirables, but a limited amount of space to fit all the required elements. CS Cavity Sliders are ideal for small rooms; they don't open into the room, so they won’t infringe on precious space.

A common concern with cavity sliders in wet areas is doors bowing due to moisture. This should not be a problem as long as some simple precautions are followed.

It is essential to ensure that the door is properly sealed on all sides, including the edges. The use of doors with steel inserts is recommended for extra stability.

If you wish to tile the side of a cavity pocket, this is also possible. Ask CS For Doors to replace the nogs on the tiled side with a sheet of ply, then line the pocket with 9 mm fibre cement sheet and tile.

A great-looking solution in bathrooms or en suites is to use a glass door. The CS FramelessGlass cavity slider allows more light to flow through into what could otherwise be a cramped, dark space. A range of glass types, hardware and detail options are available to customise these units to your requirements, and 10 mm or 12 mm safety glass must be specified.

For something a bit different, use a CS MirrorLite door. With a full-faced mirror on one or even both sides of the door, this is a great multi-purpose solution, especially for en suites and walk-in robes, with the added benefit of creating an illusion of spaciousness. This door is manufactured to a high standard and uses all aluminium construction for stability.
