Resilient Entrance Matting Features in Award-Winning Waste Management Project

The innovative Waste Management building sets a new benchmark through a focus on sustainability, innovation and workplace design. Designed by Jasmax and Eclipse Architecture, the building won three of the 2020 Property Council Industry Awards, including the Resene Green Building Award and the Supreme Award. Judges described the facility as "a world-class development, which combines operational and non-operational activities whilst improving corporate welfare."

To enhance and protect the building, the architects specified CoralTread entrance matting from Advance.

CoralTread Architectural Series entrance matting combines style and performance and is engineered to fit a shallow recess, minimising installation time. Engineered by Advance Flooring, and manufactured in NZ, this matting system minimises tracked-in dirt and moisture to maintain the looks, comfort and durability of a building’s floor surfaces.

Absorbent polyamide inserts are set within an elegant, low-profile aluminium frame. Inserts are available in a range of standard colours and can also be customised. Jasmax selected a black anodised finish for the aluminium rails combined with black polyamide, complementing the building’s black structural steel entrance.

In keeping with Waste Management’s focus on green products, CoralTread is Declare Certified by the International Living Future Institute as being salvageable/reusable in its entirety.

The polyamide inserts are highly slip-resistant, reducing the risk of injury. They are absorbent, with a shock-reducing underlayer that cushions feet and eliminates any matting ‘clatter’. The polyamide fibre is constructed with a mix of fine yarn piles for moisture absorption and thick, monofilament piles to scrape off solid particles. It is resilient and rises back after pressure, remaining open and continuing to absorb dirt and moisture.

This resilience also ensures the matting maintains its appearance over time, because first impressions matter. Providing long life, style and sustainability, CoralTread is the perfect entrance to this award-winning building.
