ACMF architectural screens are designed for use across residential, commercial, and civic projects.They can be integrated as feature elements, privacy barriers, sun shading devices, or ventilation screens, enhancing the performance and aesthetics of building façades and outdoor environments.

• Custom Fabrication: Precision-manufactured locally to suit project-specific dimensions, fixing systems, and design intent.
• ACMF screens can be engineered for wind load, fixings, and durability in accordance with New Zealand Building Code requirements, ensuring suitability for both coastal and high-wind zones.
• Integration Compatibility: Can be seamlessly integrated with ACMF louvre systems, balustrades, and façade cladding products for a cohesive architectural finish.

Typical applications include:

• Façade features – decorative or functional façade panels to add texture, depth, and visual interest.
• Balcony and balustrade screening – providing privacy while maintaining airflow and views.
• Plant and services screening – concealing HVAC units, rubbish enclosures, or rooftop plant areas in a tidy, architectural manner.
• Boundary and privacy fences – durable, low-maintenance alternatives to timber or composite screening systems.
• Entrance, carpark and courtyard areas – defining space, improving safety, and contributing to the architectural expression of the site.
• Sun shading and louvre integration – combined with operable or fixed louvre systems to reduce solar gain and improve comfort.
• Retail and hospitality environments – adding custom branding or perforated design motifs for aesthetic or functional separation.

While ACMF architectural screens are highly versatile, their suitability depends on design intent, location, and structural support.

The following limitations should be considered during specification and design:

• Not designed as primary structural elements — screens must be fixed to an adequate supporting structure designed by a qualified engineer.
• Wind and seismic loading — site-specific engineering may be required in high wind or seismic zones to confirm bracket spacing, fixings, and panel thickness.
• Fire performance — standard screen materials are non-fire-rated unless otherwise specified; for fire-rated façades or boundary applications, consult ACMF for compliant system options.
• Corrosion zones — while powder-coated aluminium provides excellent durability, additional protection may be required in severe or very severe coastal environments (consult NZS 3604 exposure zones).
• Acoustic and thermal performance — these screens are decorative or functional barriers only and are not intended to provide certified acoustic or thermal insulation values.
• Maintenance access — installation should allow for periodic inspection and cleaning of the screen and supporting structure to maintain finish and performance.
• Custom perforation or patterning — large or complex perforations may reduce panel strength and require engineering verification before manufacture.

ACMF architectural screens are designed and manufactured in accordance with good trade practice and meet the performance requirements of the New Zealand Building Code (NZBC) when installed in accordance with ACMF’s technical documentation.

When correctly specified and installed, the system will meet the requirements of the following NZBC clauses:

• B1 – Structure: The screen system can be designed to resist the loads likely to be applied, in accordance with AS/NZS 1170 and relevant engineering standards.
• B2 – Durability: Aluminium and associated fixings, when maintained, will have a minimum durability of 15 years in accordance with NZBC B2.3.1(b).
• E2 – External Moisture: When used as an exterior screen system, it is intended as a secondary element and does not compromise the primary weatherproof envelope.
• F2 – Hazardous Building Materials: The product does not contain or release harmful materials.

All ACMF screen systems are manufactured in New Zealand under controlled conditions and can be custom-engineered to project-specific design and performance criteria.

This product has been made in ACMF's local factory since 2014.
