This new project in Flatbush really highlights the contribution ACMF can make to projects, and their ability to complete not just one part of a project, but to take care of several elements — both inside and out. There are many stand-out elements from ACMF for this project, from the large curved entrance flashings and the bespoke balustrade, to the interior designer screen for the elevator.

Custom-designed perforated screens

ACMF's perforated screens were custom-designed to integrate seamlessly with the elevator lift shaft, structural elements, and sensor-controlled doors, keeping both practicality and architectural aesthetic in mind.

Curved balustrades

The Finn-balustrades wrap around a beautifully curved balcony, opening up uninterrupted views across Tāmaki Makaurau. To complement this, ACMF installed curved flashings that tie the balconies into the natural timber decking, creating a clean and timeless finish.

Louvres that balance privacy and outlook

ACMF Quadro Finn louvres provide the perfect balance of privacy and outlook, reducing solar gain for greater thermal efficiency while maintaining minimal obstruction to the view.

ACMF architectural screens are designed for use across residential, commercial, and civic projects.They can be integrated as feature elements, privacy barriers, sun shading devices, or ventilation screens, enhancing the performance and aesthetics of building façades and outdoor environments.

Custom Fabrication: Precision-manufactured locally to suit project-specific dimensions, fixing systems, and design intent.
ACMF screens can be engineered for wind load, fixings, and durability in accordance with New Zealand Building Code requirements, ensuring suitability for both coastal and high-wind zones.
Integration Compatibility: Can be seamlessly integrated with ACMF louvre systems, balustrades, and façade cladding products for a cohesive architectural finish.

ACMF architectural screens are designed and manufactured in accordance with good trade practice and meet the performance requirements of the New Zealand Building Code (NZBC) when installed in accordance with ACMF’s technical documentation.

When correctly specified and installed, the system will meet the requirements of the following NZBC clauses:

B1 – Structure: The screen system can be designed to resist the loads likely to be applied, in accordance with AS/NZS 1170 and relevant engineering standards.
B2 – Durability: Aluminium and associated fixings, when maintained, will have a minimum durability of 15 years in accordance with NZBC B2.3.1(b).
E2 – External Moisture: When used as an exterior screen system, it is intended as a secondary element and does not compromise the primary weatherproof envelope.
F2 – Hazardous Building Materials: The product does not contain or release harmful materials.

All ACMF screen systems are manufactured in New Zealand under controlled conditions and can be custom-engineered to project-specific design and performance criteria.

Flashings are defined in NZ Building Code clause E2 as ‘components formed from a rigid or flexible waterproof material that drains or deflects water back outside the cladding system.

Roof junctions and edges including gutters
Changes in roof pitch
Roof and wall penetrations such as pipes, doors, windows etc
Vertical and horizontal junctions between cladding materials
Roof and wall intersections including soffits, parapets, skylights and balustrades
Any intersections between different building elements
ACMF make bespoke flashings for all projects
