Presidential Shake will be replacing the Independence profile, offering the same fantastic durability with unique aesthetic advantages.

The Presidential Series is the original luxury shingle created to replicate the look of cedar shakes with the performance of fibre glass construction. Available in seven different rich colour options, the Presidential Shake delivers the charm and character of hand-split wood shakes with the durability and strength that presides over wood in virtually every surrounding. And unlike wood, it won’t rot or decay, and it offers excellent wind and fire resistance. This profile will ensure a stunning finish that will match any building style.

Presidential Shake is created from heavy-duty construction materials and is designed to handle the toughest of New Zealand weather conditions, sun, hail and wind. Viking CertainTeed Highland Slate offers a 50 year product warranty and wind resistance up to 205kmph (extra high rating with extra fixings installed).

From the shade, texture and rustic sculpted edges of the Presidential Shake to the staggered, authentic design, no other roofing has the performance, durability and stunning replication of real wood shakes like the CertainTeed Presidential Shake.

Asphalt shingles are individual bituminous sheets (usually 915mm long), nailed on top of a timber-sarked roof substrate with either a layer of bitumen felt or self-adhering membrane in-between.

Viking CertainTeed Asphalt Roofing Shingles have been appraised as a roof cladding for buildings within the following scope:

The scope limitations of NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, paragraph 1.1, with regard to floor plan area and building height; and,
Constructed with timber roof framing and sheathing complying with the NZBC; and,
Where the roof slope is 9 degrees or greater for plywood and 10 degrees or greater for Strandsarking; and,
Situated in NZS 3604 Wind Zones up to and including High, or Extra High for the Landmark Series, Hatteras and Independence shingles only.

Clause B1 STRUCTURE: Performance B1.3.1, B1.3.2, B1.3.3 and B1.3.4.
