SRP Introduces New 140mm Steel Stud & Track System

A recurring question the Steel Rollformed Products team hears from architects and designers across New Zealand during presentations is:

“Why is there a 10mm difference between 140mm timber framing and 150mm steel framing?”

It is a valid question — one that highlights real-world challenges for professionals involved in the design and construction process.

Rather than focusing on historical standards, SRP looked ahead and asked themselves:

How can we make internal wall construction simpler and more consistent for builders and designers?

The answer came through collaboration. The SRP Architectural and Sales teams worked closely with Production and Engineering to develop a practical solution: the new 140mm SRP Steel Stud System.

The system uses lightweight, SRP steel stud framing (of equivalent size) to tie-in with existing 140mm timber wall framed internal walls, making it suitable for new builds, additions and alterations alike.

This complete wall system is ideal for full-height internal walls and includes the following components:

  • Steel Bottom Track
  • Steel Studs
  • Nogging Track
  • Deflection Head Track

Options:

Stud type Available width sizes (mm) Steel coil thickness (BMT)
Standard SRP Steel Studs 51, 64, 75, 92, 100, 120, 140, 150 0.55, 0.75, 1.15
SRP Acoustic WW Stud 92 0.55, 0.75
