The unique Whisperwall stud profile was specifically designed to maximise sound control with increased ability to reduce noise within walls/ in-between spaces (in residential and commercial buildings and educational facilities).
The unique shape, and flexible ‘springy’ characteristic, of the SRP Whisperwall stud profile has proven highly effective, and has become a necessary essential — especially in an intertenancy wall application, where the highest levels of acoustic performance are required.
Acoustically tested in 2014, at the Auckland Uniservices Acoustic Lab Test Facility, it was proven SRP Whisperwall system provides significant advantages over timber framing and staggered stud in installation, with better acoustic results.
The SRP Whisperwall System exceeds the minimum Acoustic (STC) requirements for intertenancy walls (≥ STC 55), without the need for thicker or double-stud walls, and without unnecessary wastage of floor space/ area.
Configured in 92mm x 42mm from 0.55mm or 0.75mm using G300 Z275 Steel Coil, Whisperwall stud offers quality corrosion resistance and predictable performance.
STC ratings with different combinations of wallboard and Whisperwall:
- 13mm Noiseline – 1 layer (Both sides): STC – 52
- 13mm Noiseline – 1 layer (Both sides) + 10mm Noiseline (One side): STC – 58
- 13mm Noiseline – 1 layer (Both sides) + 10mm Noiseline (Both sides): STC – 62
A generously knurled face allows easy fixing ability with ample width when securing high density wallboard products. To complement the SRP Whisperwall stud, appropriate insulation must be installed as a snug and full fit to the stud in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
Results apply using R1.8 Pink Batts or 75mm Pink Batts Silencer insulation.
Complies with: AS1397-2001; ASNZS1170: NZS3404.1: NZS4600: AS1358; AS1530.4-2014
