When system selection is crucial
Projects of this scale demand materials that can withstand constant foot traffic, environmental exposure and moisture risk while maintaining performance and appearance for decades.
Mapei systems were selected to help ensure the stadium operates reliably year-round, protecting critical areas and supporting lifecycle durability.
Application of heavy-duty coatings
The main concourse walkways were finished with Mapecoat TNS Extreme, a UV-stable, heavy-duty acrylic system designed to resist wear, maintain slip resistance and retain visual consistency under intense public use. In waterproofed areas, TNS Extreme was installed over Mapefloor PU 400, creating a fully integrated system that combines trafficable durability with proven waterproof protection.
Waterproofing for the long-term
Mapefloor PU 400 waterproofing was applied across all walkways and deck areas above occupied spaces, delivering a flexible, crack-bridging membrane that protects the structure from moisture ingress while ensuring a dry, secure environment below. Its proven performance makes it ideal for large-scale public infrastructure exposed to movement, vibration and changing conditions.
The hygienic finish
All toilets, kitchens and back-of-house areas were completed using Mapefloor I 302 SL epoxy systems, providing a seamless, hygienic and highly chemical-resistant finish. These surfaces are designed for easy cleaning, long-term wear resistance and compliance with demanding hygiene standards, making them ideal for high-use service environments.
