modulyss Announce NEW Cradle to Cradle Certification

Modulyss have announced that nine of their stunning collections have been awarded Cradle to Cradle Gold certification.

“At modulyss we aim to contribute to a circular economy by offering our customers sustainable carpet tile solutions. We consider our Cradle to Cradle certification as a crucial milestone in this endeavour,” says Stefan Claeys, Managing Director at modulyss.

Cradle to Cradle certified is a globally recognised independent standard for products with a positive impact on people and planet developed and issued by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute. In order to become Cradle to Cradle certified, the modulyss products had to undergo an extensive assessment of environmental and social criteria across five categories:

  • Material health
  • Material reutilisation
  • Renewable energy and carbon management
  • Water stewardship
  • Social fairness

In the category ‘material health’, modulyss achieved a Platinum score (the highest possible), underlining the products’ exceptional safety to humans and the environment.

The newly certified modulyss product ranges include Dusk, Dawn, Moss, Leaf, Willow, Grind, Millennium Nxtgen, Mxture and Txture.

These carpet tiles are made with 100% regenerated solution-dyed PA6 yarn (ECONYL) and feature a new backing with circularity in mind. This PVC and bitumen free backing, called ecoBack, consists of minimum 75% recycled content and can be disassembled and recycled at the end of the carpet’s lifetime. In addition, all Cradle to Cradle Certified products are CO2 neutral thanks to the CO2RE initiative, which offsets any remaining greenhouse gas emissions by supporting climate projects.
