Samsung Auckland Office Fitout Uses Heritage Carpets to Shape Flexible Neighbourhoods

Samsung’s Auckland office fitout, delivered by Unispace, centres on creating a strong connection between its people, workspace, and global brand identity.

The layout is designed around a series of flexible, interconnected neighbourhoods that encourage visibility across teams and foster a deeper understanding of Samsung’s diverse product and service offering. A variety of spaces cater to different ways of working, including technology-enabled collaboration areas, dedicated training rooms, quiet focus zones, and social spaces.

Enhancing employee wellbeing and overall experience was a primary driver behind the design. Careful planning ensured an intuitive user journey, with a strong emphasis on access to natural light and the integration of biophilic elements to create a more balanced and engaging environment.

Material selection also played a key role. Working alongside Heritage Carpets, the design team introduced commercial carpet tiles featuring nature-inspired colours and patterns. These were thoughtfully combined to define distinct zones throughout the office, supporting both functionality and visual cohesion.

Completed within a 12-week construction programme, the Unispace team delivered a workspace that balances performance, wellbeing, and brand alignment — meeting budget and timeline expectations while creating a refined and highly functional environment for Samsung’s Auckland team.
