Specification and collaboration

Edgesmith worked closely with Bay City Fencing to ensure every product selected was fit for purpose, from the fencing profile through to the gate hardware and automation system. That kind of early collaboration between supplier and installer makes a real difference on site, reducing complications and delivering a finished result that performs as intended and looks the part for years to come.

Gates were custom fabricated and powder coated at Edgesmith's Silverdale factory, giving the project a consistent, high-quality finish across every element.

The install

The main fencing run uses 1.8m Finn Contour Panels, chosen for their clean contemporary profile and suitability for the home's modern architecture. A Custom Finn Panel ties the design together at the entry point, incorporating the mailbox and maintaining visual continuity across the full streetscape.

Pedestrian access is handled by a Single Swing Gate fitted with Fifty Lock hardware, a Double Sided Vera code lock, and Mammoth hinges. It is a reliable, well-proven combination from leading European hardware brand Locinox, built to handle everyday use with ease.

The Double Sided Vera code lock is battery operated, making it straightforward to install without the need for cabling or external power. It gives residents flexible access control from both sides of the gate, with the ability to manage multiple user codes. That kind of flexibility suits busy households well. The Mammoth hinges are hydraulic, delivering smooth, controlled movement every time the gate opens or closes. They also add a solid layer of security, keeping the gate firmly in position when closed and resisting forced entry. Together, the hardware works as a system, not just a collection of parts.

The driveway entry features a custom Telescopic Finn Slider, automated with a Medio operator and offering both keypad entry and remote smartphone monitoring and control. It's a smart, practical solution that suits the way people live today.
