Dulux: Proudly Made in New Zealand

Dulux began manufacturing in New Zealand in Gracefield, Lower Hutt in 1939. Since then, millions of litres of water-based paint and coating products have been produced and distributed throughout New Zealand. For over 80 years Dulux has helped protect, maintain, and enhance the spaces and places where Kiwis live, work and play. While it is synonymous with creating better homes, Dulux also plays a critical role in creating and improving the infrastructure seen across New Zealand, every day.

At DuluxGroup, sustainable practices are at the heart of the business. The Paint Take-Back service was established in 2009 and helps professionals and DIY painters to responsibly dispose of leftover paint and reduce their impact on the planet.

Colours of New Zealand

Colours of New Zealand is a range of paint colours each inspired by a cherished New Zealand location. Thousands of locations found expression in Dulux colours. From the rich red of Roaring Meg to the brilliant blue of Lake Tekapo, natural shades like Narrow Neck to the soft pinks of Alexandra — there’s a colour for everyone.

Explore the most popular colours for the season including the soft green of the West Coast's remote Woods Creek to the stunning blue/green of Mangawhai Heads. Or the classics like Ōpononi, one of the most loved neutrals and Ōkārito, the most popular white.

With something for everyone scattered across this beautiful country, feel inspired by the Dulux Colours of New Zealand. View the full range of colours here.

Dulux — key partnerships

Dulux strives to have a positive impact and are proud to partner with numerous organisations every year, such as Surf Life Saving Clubs and the Department of Conservation, while continually researching ways to reduce the environmental impact of the products, without affecting their superior performance.

Dulux and the Department of Conservation Te Papa Atawhai have been working together since 2013 to protect backcountry DOC huts, historic buildings, and other facilities for future generations to enjoy.

Dulux is helping paint Surf Life Saving Clubs around New Zealand, protecting them and the home of the Dulux Colours of New Zealand, while they protect New Zealanders out in the waves.
