It was Wakefield's ambition to provide state-of-the-art clinical facilities with an excellent patient flow throughout the hospital.

Bowen Hospital in Hawke's Bay needed to have equipment that was reliable and stood up to the heavy demands of day-to-day use in a hospital environment. Assa Abloy’s Besam automatic door operators were the perfect fit.

The Besam operators were chosen due to their advanced technology, durability, safety and sustainability. Being environmentally friendly, with their silent operation and low power consumption, also put them ahead of the field.

The new development was fitted with 20 Besam Unislide-1 doors for sliding applications and 26 Besam Powerswing operators for swing doors. Due to the versatility of the Besam brand, these operators are activated by a variety of methods including foot-operated switches, sensors and swipe cards.
