Edgetec JH Clamp for Frameless Glass Balustrades with a Minimalist Finish

Juralco is pleased to introduce the JH Clamp, the latest addition to its Edgetec heavy weight glass balustrade range . The product has been designed in response to demand from both architects and clients for glass balustrades with a minimalist finish.

The JH Clamp is an aluminium clamp system for 12mm toughened glass panels, set at 600mm centres, giving a visually uncluttered look compared to stainless steel disc fittings. The JH Clamp can be readily powder coated in a range of Dulux colours to match window joinery or other architectural features.

For those seeking a completely minimalist external look, Juralco has designed a detail for the system that hides both the JH Clamp and external boundary joists, giving the illusion the glass panels are floating with no obvious fixings as illustrated in the accompanying photos.

The balustrade on this home was installed by the team from HomePlus Exteriors, South East Auckland, using the hidden detail and 12mm toughened glass from Metro Glasstech giving the owner a stunning finish to the deck that complements the beachside view.

As per other Juralco balustrading products, the Edgetec JH Clamp is NZS 1170 compliant.

Edgetec® JH Clamp is an architectural grade aluminium clamp system for 12mm/15mm toughened, 13.52/17.52 SentryGlass or 15.2/17.2 Laminated glass panels that fixes to the external edge of decks and stairs.

JH Clamp Balustrade is for Domestic and Residential Occupancy types A, A Other and C3 and for Commercial Occupancy Types B, E, A Other and C3 Occupancy Types as per AS/NZ 1170.1.2002.

Edgetec JH Clamp balustrade is suitable for deck and balcony barriers, internal stairways or landings and can be fixed to timber (including waterproof decks), concrete, and steel. Complies with NZS1170, NZBC Clause F9, and 162C of the Building Act (pool safety legislation).

Additionally, the JH Clamp system is available with a detail that hides both the external boundary joists and the JH Clamp, so the glass panels have no obvious fixings.

Designed and manufactured in New Zealand, the Edgetec JH Clamp balustrade system has been engineered and tested by independent engineers to comply with NZ standards AS/NZS1170, NZS4223.3.2016, New Zealand Building Code B1, B2 and F4, NZBC Clause F9 & 162C of the Building Act (pool safety legislation).
Edgetec JH Clamp balustrade is suitable for Occupancy A, A other, B, E C3 Residential and C3 Commercial.
An interlinking top rail has been incorporated into the Edgetec range to comply with new 2016 balustrade regulations - NZS4223.3.2016.
Any deviation from standard fabrication or installation must be accompanied by a site specific PS1, with site specific calculations and drawings.
