The 8m high x 6m wide booth can test multi-storey windows for air and water penetration, structural integrity as well as seismic performance. Its design allows full compliance with AS/NZS 4284: 2008, Testing of Building Facades and also for testing external moisture penetration under Building Code provision E2/VM1.

APL is active in both the residential sector as well as in commercial projects. For smaller scale, residential product testing APL also have a second 4m x 4m test booth.

The new commercial rig can test three-storey facades to an ultimate wind pressure of 8kPa, double the New Zealand requirement. A hydraulic ram for seismic testing is part of the installation.
