Brighten Up Rooms with Colourful Textured Tiles

The options are endless when it comes to a discussion of light and colour in the world of tiles. Light effects of gloss finished tile or textured / three-dimensional surfaces can be a deal-breaker in achieving the ultimate room design. By their very nature tiles also lend themselves to all shades of the rainbow, from cool whites to terracotta, to dark reds. If there is a colour in mind, there is a tile to fit the end picture.

Lighten Up Spaces with Tiles

When considering tiles and their ability to enhance the brightness of a room, most assume gloss or polished surfaces are the only options available, as they are extremely effective in adding a reflective element by illumination. This is of course correct, however there are other options.

Using a different texture can result in creating a lighter look by playing with light. An example would be the new 3D Hexagon range from Tile Warehouse. The 'starfish' three-dimensional design creates texture and depth, giving the tiles a luminous appeal. 3D Hexagons come in five colours whereby the pastel tonalities combined with vitrified and metallic glazes provide an exclusive and original decorative proposition.

Other such textural and gloss-effect finishes can be seen in the image gallery above.

Light reflected off such tiles helps to illuminate, providing a brighter and warmer atmosphere. Aside from this, if the light in a room is improved by merely choosing an appropriate surface material such as a gloss finish, the same effect can be created. Specifying the correct surface in a darkened room, rather than utilising high energy-based lighting, can also work to save clients money.

Tiles and Colour: The Perfect Relationship

In today's world with the advancement of inkjet printing amongst many other technologies, colour and tiles now go a long way past muted beige floor and white wall tiles. An adventurous consumer or designer has a multitude of options to choose from with regards to adding a splash of colour and original design to a building's interior living space.

At Tile Warehouse, the team pride themselves on having the largest stocked range in New Zealand to suit all tastes. From pinks and mauves in glass mosaics such as the Kanna, to solid coloured tile Poitiers Blue, they make it their business to cater to all tastes.
