With over 45 years of experience, Pyrotek is a market leader in manufacturing innovative acoustic solutions. Specialised in proven acoustic insulation, thermal insulation and other exclusive marine-approved structural fire protection, Pyrotek provides advanced materials to designed specifications.
Several years of research and development by Pyrotek led to the development of Soundlag products, which are the choice for many leading acoustic consultants, architects and consulting engineers because of their quality assured consistent performance — guaranteeing quieter pipes.
Soundlag 4512 has now become an industry standard for the control of hydraulic noise in the building and construction industries. It has been extensively tested in New Zealand and safely meets the requirements of the New Zealand and Australian building codes for the control of waste pipe noise.
Proven over many years of use in New Zealand (and worldwide), it is used in many iconic building projects. Consultants have confidence in specifying Soundlag 4512 because of its proven performance and technical backing.
Soundlag 4512 is a combination of a 12mm acoustic foam decoupling layer and mass barrier. The unique combination of these two layers has been optimised to give a product that is specifically designed to meet building code requirements without compromising performance.
- Reduces the noise in hydraulic and waste pipes by up to 24dB(A)
- Broad operating temperature range
- Tested to AS 1530. part 3
- Excellent acoustic performance
- Residents experience the luxury of silence
- Long, useful life
- Can be cut to size and easy to install
It has an inherent flexibility, improving fit-out quality on difficult traps and joins. The polyether foam used in the manufacture of Soundlag products is non-fibrous, will withstand the effects of moisture (hydrolysis resistant), displays excellent acoustic characteristics and has a long, serviceable life.
