For projects being built using 140mm framing at 400mm centres for a stronger structure or projects located in a 'High' or 'Very High' wind zone, specifying new Pink Batts 140mm Narrow Wall products (380mm width) is an ideal alternative for maximising the thermal efficiency of the structure while minimising waste during installation.

Pink Batts has added two new products that can be used in scenarios where 140mm wall framing at 400 centres is required.

• Pink Batts R3.2 — 140mm Narrow Wall 
• Pink Batts R4.0 — 140mm Narrow Wall 

The extra thickness allowed using 140mm framing enables specifiers to achieve better thermal performance by using the higher R-value insulation available in the 140mm range. R-values in the Pink Batts insulation 140mm wall range go up to R4.0, while R2.8 is the highest R-value achieved when thickness is restricted to 90mm.

When the spacing between studs is 400mm, then the 'Narrow Wall' range provides products correctly sized to the framing dimensions and decreases the number of cuts needed on site to install the insulation. This improves the quality of the work and reduces the time taken to get the job completed.

The width and the height dimension of the new Pink Batts 140mm Narrow Wall product range mirrors the rest of the Pink Batts Narrow Wall range at 1220 x 380mm. The Pink Batts Narrow wall range consists of two R-values.

• Pink Batts R2.2 – 90mm Narrow Wall 
• Pink Batts R2.6 – 90mm Narrow Wall
