Fletcher Building Companies Unite to Achieve Energy Efficient Lighting Solution

Laminex Te Rapa Site Manager David Miles engaged Forman Building Systems (also an FBL company) to provide a turnkey energy-efficient lighting solution.

The project involved replacing 216 existing 400watt metal halide high bay lights, with energy efficient 150 and 130 watt LED High bays supplied by Forman Building Systems.  When enough natural light is available the lights dim or switch off.  In the zones that are not in constant use, motion sensors activate lights when people or forklifts enter the area.

Forman Building Systems worked closely with LightenUp Consulting on the project. Key benefits include an 80% annual reduction in electricity use for lighting with an estimated $80,000 in cost savings annually, and an estimated 7.5% (67 tonnes) reduction in CO2 emissions annually.
