Haven, Forté's most versatile engineered timber flooring collection, is now available in a 240mm plank width, offering designers greater flexibility for larger-format residential and commercial interiors.
The expanded width joins the existing Haven range and ships with a 21mm board thickness and a 6mm wear layer, one of the most generous in the engineered timber category. At 21mm, Haven sits at the thicker end of the engineered flooring spectrum — a dimension that's difficult to find at this price point. For projects where longevity matters, that depth translates directly into practical value: more material to work with over the floor's lifetime, and greater scope for refinishing without compromising structural integrity.
Why width and thickness matter in specification
Wider planks read differently in a space. They reduce the number of visible joints across a floor field, creating a calmer, more expansive surface — particularly effective in open-plan living areas, hotel suites, and commercial environments where floor continuity contributes to the overall design intent. At 240mm, Haven now sits comfortably alongside the wider-format preferences increasingly common in high-specification New Zealand residential projects.
The 21mm thickness adds another layer of specification confidence. Thicker boards feel more substantial underfoot, perform better over uneven substrates, and carry the kind of weight that typically commands a significant premium. Haven 21/240 delivers that specification without the price barrier that usually comes with it.
The 6mm wear layer also opens Haven to environments that demand more from their floors. High-traffic areas, ground-level installations with potential moisture exposure, and projects where future sanding cycles are anticipated can now be specified with greater confidence.
