Dulux Colour Awards Finalist: Land Information NZ Project

LINZ exists to maintain and regulate Crown and private property rights and to make available the geographic information about New Zealand. A key part of Creative Spaces brief was to showcase these elements through the design.

Creative Spaces design solution draws on a colour palette of land and sea, which they have used extensively throughout the office space to subtly reinforce LINZ's connection to the geography of New Zealand. References to maps and mapping - also key to what LINZ does - can be seen in various details throughout the space. Because LINZ stores and holds numerous physical geographical records and maps onsite, filing was a key area of concern for the client. While they wanted to maintain ease of access to files, they also wanted to ensure that the office environment was visually dynamic.

Boldly coloured blades at the end of a series of storage rows were used to mark and partially conceal the file storage area of the office, providing both a practical and aesthetically pleasing design solution.
