CondenStop: A Cost-Effective Way to Prevent Condensation

Single skin metal roofs are prone to condensation due to changing outdoor or indoor conditions. Condensation, sweating and dripping can have severe adverse effects on the condition of the building and its valuable contents.

CondenStop is a structural and economical solution to solve moisture management problems in single skin systems. It prevents dripping and sweating of single sheet roofing systems and provides additional protection against corrosion. It will also give building owners an economical and effective integrated solution against the harmful effects of moisture.

CondenStop is a solution for the prevention of dripping of condensation in non-insulated buildings and the anti-condensation fleece is applied onto the majority of single skin roof panels across Europe. CondenStop bonded sheets are found in many types of buildings including, storage buildings, hangars, vehicle storage shelters, portable buildings, barns, activity centres, arenas, carports, manufacturing facilities, and warehouses.

A synthetic non-woven fleece based on polyester fibres, CondenStop contains a chemical binding agent mixed with unique thermoplastic microspheres. Together, these components create the critical characteristics for the effective prevention of sweating and dripping.

CondenStop has excellent absorption properties that will prevent dripping from the roof or ceiling. The absorption capacity for the material is over 1000 grams per square metre, as determined by the Institute of Building Physics in Germany, and it has been tested extensively and successfully in Europe by other leading institutes and the largest metal companies.

Condenstop significantly reduces the long-term exposure of structural elements (such as roof purlins) to water vapour by accelerating the evaporation process, thereby improving the longevity of these elements.
