WaterSAFE is a panel-mounted drinking water treatment system designed for installation within buildings or protected service areas supplying potable water from rainwater tanks, bore water, or spring sources.

The system is suitable for use throughout New Zealand, provided it is installed within a sheltered and structurally supported environment. WaterSAFE is intended for small to medium private water supplies such as schools, marae, community facilities, rural commercial buildings, and multi-dwelling developments.

It is designed to treat stored raw water to potable quality when used as part of a complete water supply system that includes appropriate collection, storage, and pumping infrastructure.

The system is typically used where water supplies serve fewer than 500 people.

WaterSAFE must be installed indoors or within a weather-protected enclosure (Watersmart can supply the system pre-installed inside a shed) and connected to a pressurised water supply that meets the required flow and pressure specifications.

The system is designed to operate with relatively clean source water such as rainwater or properly managed bore or spring supplies and may require pre-filtration if turbidity or sediment loads or other water contaminants are excessive.

WaterSAFE must be installed in conjunction with compatible components such as rainwater tanks, pumps, and plumbing systems designed for potable water applications.

Installation must be completed by qualified tradespeople in accordance with relevant plumbing and electrical standards.

The system requires a suitable power supply and ongoing maintenance including filter and UV lamp replacement to maintain performance.

WaterSAFE has been used for Marae, community halls and off-grid housing developments with centralised water delivery for around 2 years so far. All components have been used separately for many years around New Zealand and overseas. WaterSAFE combines different proven technologies and components into a single easy to specify and install and maintain system.

WaterSAFE provides multi-stage water treatment including sediment filtration, optional activated carbon filtration, and ultraviolet disinfection to improve water clarity, taste, odour, and microbiological safety. The system can be configured to accommodate a range of flow rates depending on the application and system specification.

Integrated monitoring capability can be provided through Flowgen to enable remote system monitoring, fault alerts, and maintenance notifications. The system is pre-assembled and factory-tested to reduce installation time and improve reliability. WaterSAFE is designed to support the safe production of drinking water from alternative water sources in locations where reticulated potable water is unavailable.
