Hydraloop is a compact, decentralised greywater recycling system designed to treat and reuse water from showers, baths, washing machines, hand basins, heat pumps, and air conditioning units. It enables residential and commercial buildings to significantly reduce mains water demand and wastewater output while improving sustainability and compliance with Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) principles.

Scope of Use

The Hydraloop is a decentralised greywater recycling system that collects, treats, and disinfects wastewater from showers, baths, and washing machines so it can be reused for non-potable applications.

Treated water is typically reused for toilet flushing, laundry supply, garden irrigation, and pool top-ups, reducing mains water consumption and wastewater discharge.

The system integrates with building plumbing where greywater and blackwater are separated, supplying recycled water back through a dedicated non-potable line.

Hydraloop units are designed for indoor installation and operate best in controlled environments such as garages, plant rooms, or utility spaces.

Typical applications include residential homes, apartments, and multi-unit developments, as well as commercial and institutional buildings like offices, hotels, and educational facilities.

By recycling greywater on-site, Hydraloop helps buildings reduce potable water demand and improve overall water sustainability.

Limitations on Use

The Hydraloop is limited to treating greywater only and cannot process blackwater sources such as toilets, kitchen sinks, or dishwashers due to higher contamination levels. It requires separated plumbing infrastructure, meaning buildings must have dedicated greywater collection and non-potable reuse lines for proper operation.

Washing machine water can be taken if an additional electronic diverter valve is installed on the top of the Hydraloop unit.

The system must be installed indoors in a controlled environment, as it is not designed for outdoor exposure or extreme temperature conditions as it must remain between 14 to 35 degrees Celsius. It is also intended for non-potable reuse only, so treated water cannot be used for drinking, cooking, or personal hygiene applications such as showers or hand basins.

Hydraloop has been recycling greywater since 2018. Used in Hotels, campsites, gyms, student accommodation, office blocks, sports facilities, stadiums, retirement homes, and residential properties for 7 years.
