• Internal wet areas including showers and bathrooms in residential and commercial buildings.
• Suitable substrates include concrete slabs, cementitious screeds and framed walls lined with suitable sheet materials or XPS backer boards.
• Falls to outlets are provided at 1:50 in showers and typically 1:80 outside showers. Where 1:80 cannot be achieved outside the shower, tank the full bathroom floor and install a secondary waste and doorway waterstop.
• Under-tile heating may be installed where specified, encapsulated, and protected with the waterproofing system.
• Movement joints are required at perimeters, over structural joints and at centres per design. Waterstops are installed at level entries, step-downs, doorways and nibs as detailed. • Not for exterior decks, façades or immersed environments such as pools unless separately designed and detailed.
• Not a substitute for structural crack control or negative-side waterproofing.
• XPS boards require continuous support and correct fixing patterns. Mechanical fixing to timber studs is required for 10 mm wall linings, with adhesive bedding for floors.
• Moisture vapour barriers used in dry zones are not waterproof membranes.
• Movement joints must not be omitted or bridged and must be carried through finishes where present in the structure. If your project includes substrate movement or cracking, tanking, structural details, pools, façades, balconies or decks, heated floors or chemical exposure, speak with the Surtec Technical Team before specifying.

• When designed and installed in accordance with this system and good trade practice, the system can contribute to compliance with the New Zealand Building Code, including B2 Durability, E3 Internal Moisture for internal wet areas and F2 Hazardous Building Materials.
• Membranes in this system are tested to AS 4858 and are installed to AS 3740 and the IWAM Code of Practice. TANZ Best Practice guidance for tiling and wet areas is followed in detailing and installation.
