Mammoth ceiling blanket insulation is designed to be used as thermal insulation in timber framed or part framed ceilings of domestic and commercial buildings.

In the opinion of BRANZ, Mammoth Insulation if designed, used, installed and maintained in accordance with the statements and conditions of this Appraisal, will meet or contribute to meeting the following provisions of the NZBC:

• Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(a) not less than 50 years and B2.3.1(b) 15 years. Mammoth Insulation will meet this requirement.
• Clause E3 Internal Moisture: Performance E3.3.1. Mammoth Insulation will contribute to meeting this requirement. See Paragraphs 13.1 and 13.2.
• Clause F2 Hazardous Materials: Performance F2.3.1. Mammoth Insulation meets this requirement and will not present a health hazard to people.
• Clause H1 Energy Efficiency: Performance H1.3.1 (a) and H1.3.2 E. Mammoth Insulation will contribute to meeting these requirements. See Paragraphs 14.1 and 14.2.

• Performance is guaranteed for a lifetime of the building (90 years).
• Non-Toxic and Non-irritant: OSH Health and Safety Guidelines for the Selection and Safe Handling of Synthetic Mineral fibres.  Department of Labour, 1994, p18
• Fire Testing: 
  • AS1530 Part 3: Ignitability (0), Spread of Flame (0), Heat Evolved (0) & Smoke Developed (3)
  • AS/NZS60695.2.11 — Glow wire flammability test (passed)
  • AS/NZS60695.11.5 — Needle-flame test (passed)
• VOC Emission Test: Total VOC< 0.005mg/m3 (level below detection) and Formaldehyde < 0.009mg/m3 (level below detection)
• Non Corrosive: AS/NZS4859.1 (Alkalinity of pH7.8)
• Vermin Resistant: not a food source for vermin and not treated 
• Mammoth products are Red List Free — International Living Future Institute.
• Mammoth products are made in a near zero waste production process and are fully recyclable
