Stunning Pixelated Precast Façade for Tauranga Westpac Building

With Westpac Bank as the anchor tenant, this mixed-use commercial and retail project is positioned on one of the best sites in the Cameron Road / 11th Ave precinct.

The pixelated surface finish on the Litecrete lightweight precast concrete panels was achieved by the use of a customised urethane rubber formliner which is placed in the mould prior to casting. With thickness increments of 25mm, the finished panels varied in thickness from 150 to 225mm. The panels were coated with a white cementitious paint system after installation.

Litecrete is half the weight of standard precast concrete, which makes it cheaper to freight and reduces the overall dead-load on the building compared to standard precast. The pumice aggregate used in the mix provides the light weight and also an in-built insulation value.

Litecrete can be used for both commercial and residential construction.
