Specify Timber Cladding Up to 25m with WoodSafe Timber by Fireshield

Fireshield is excited to launch WoodSafe, the latest and most technologically advanced solution in Fireshield’s range of fire rated timber treatments.

Fireshield WoodSafe is an off-site treatment process that provides pre-finished, hard wearing fire rated timber products that retain the natural look and beauty of the timber.

The WoodSafe treatment is available from local suppliers such as Hermpac in popular profiles and timber species including Cedar, Ash, American Oak, Maple, Poplar, Larch, Spruce and Pine. Fireshield is able to source and supply other hard to source timbers and plywood panels directly.

Fireshield WoodSafe Timber can be specified in two ranges:

WoodSafe Exterior: A treatment applied to a range of timber species and profiles suitable for either external cladding that requires a Type A rating or for internal areas which require a Group 1-S surface rating in high humidity and wet areas.

Importantly, this means that beautiful timber finishes are now possible from 10m and up to 25m as an external cladding and also within 1m of a boundary, something not possible in NZ since 2017.

WoodSafe Interior: A treatment for timbers used in dry internal environments with a maximum constant relative humidity of 75%.
WoodSafe Interior provides beautiful interior finishes without the need for the on-site application of intumescent paint, reducing both time and cost.

Sustainably beautiful

The WoodSafe fire treatment is guaranteed to last the lifetime of the timber and complies with the durability requirements of the NZBC for fire protection. All timber used in the WoodSafe process are PEFC and FSC certified and the treated timber is not harmful even when cut or disposed of.

Timbers treated with WoodSafe can be coated with Fireshield approved stains, penetrating oils, paints, polyurethanes and varnishes available from most major paint manufacturers.
