It is no secret that the New Zealand sunshine is harsh. It orbits closer to the sun during summertime and the fact the air is a lot less polluted than other countries contributes to intense UV rays —and then there's the hole in the ozone layer.

Many composite decks owned by New Zealanders aren't made to withstand these conditions, and end up taking a beating from harsh UV rays. BiForm offers a solution with their Solid Composite Decking Boards.

This 130mm x 19mm board will be more appropriate for, but not limited to residential outdoor decking options, as well as commercial applications where suited.

BRANZ have appraised BiForm Wood Plastic Composite Decking to be used as an alternative exterior decking material for decks designed and constructed in accordance with NZS 3604.

FORM 130 Solid Composite Decking Board has been used most often in the construction of public viewing platforms. It is also used with either the concealed fixing system or predrilled and top fixed for traditional decking.

In the opinion of BRANZ, if it is designed, used, installed, and maintained in accordance with the statements and conditions of Appraisal No. 680 (2015), BiForm's WPC Decking will meet the following provisions of the NZBC:

Clause B1 STRUCTURE: Performance B1.3.1, B1.3.2, & B1.3.4. BiForm's WPC Decking meets the requirements of loads arising from self-weight, imposed loads, and impact [i.e. B1 3.3 (a), (b), (j)]
Clause B2 DURABILITY: Performance B2.3.1 (b) 15 years. BiForm's WPC Decking meets this requirement.
Clause F2 HAZARDOUS BUILDING MATERIALS: Performance F2.3.1. Biform's WPC Decking meets this requirement and will not present a health hazard to people.

Biform's WPC Decking has been appraised as an alternative solution in terms of New Zealand Building Code compliance.

This concealed clip is used to attach the BiForm FORM 130 and 140 boards to the joist below — one on every joist (400mm centres for FORM 130 and 450mm centres for FORM 140), by sliding the clip into the side groove of the board and screwing into the joist with a black stainless steel fixing screw.
