New Lock Seam Profile for Smart Tray Roofing

After identifying that there was a gap in the market for a tray roof that fixes directly onto purlins and does not require a plywood substrate, Architectural Metalformers have launched a new Lock Seam profile addition to their Smart Tray roof range.

The Lock Seam profile is an exciting new option for high wind zone areas, as it has been tested to withstand in excess of up to three times the accepted test pressure of a trapezoidal tray roof and eliminate wind uplift to the highest levels. These extraordinary results will ensure this lock seam profile will be an extremely popular option in the Smart Tray roofing system.

Property owner and architect, Robyn Bilkey, decided to invest in the new Smart Tray Lock Seam roofing for her new property in Parnell, Auckland. "We were very pleased to find a roofing product comparable to the wide-tray types of roofing on the market, but without the added cost of plywood sarking," comments Robyn. "The new roof looks good and performs very well."

Greg Hurt, Senior Contracts Manager explains that the Lock Seam profile is "a great, modern-looking roof that is installed directly on purlins at 450mm centres. It is installed by our qualified roofers to the same specifications and focus on quality as our full Standing Seam roof, but saving on the cost of ply and fastenings."

Smart Tray roofs are stylish with a strong visual appeal. Constructed from sustainable materials, they have a low carbon footprint, are recyclable and are sensitive to the environment. The new Lock Seam profile is a complementary new addition to the Smart Tray roofing range and is a true Standing Seam profile.

Smart Tray Lock Seam profile is available in Aluminium and Steel.
