Translucent glass is suitable wherever privacy and natural light are both desired, and can be used in residential and commercial applications, including:

• Internal partitions & screens – to separate spaces while letting light through
• Privacy windows – bathrooms, bedrooms, stairwells
• Shower screens
• Balustrades & barriers
• Rooflights, skylights & overhead glazing
• Doors and sidelights
• Feature façade or architectural design elements

It can be specified as laminated and/or toughened glass to meet applicable safety glazing requirements where needed (e.g. in balustrades, doors and windows).

Translucent laminated or toughened glass (VLam™ Translucent) complies with the relevant requirements of the New Zealand Building Code (NZBC) when designed, specified, and installed in accordance with manufacturer instructions and applicable standards.

It meets the performance requirements of:

• Clause B1 – Structure: When designed and installed to withstand imposed loads.
• Clause B2 – Durability: When used in accordance with durability requirements for building elements.
• Clause F2 – Hazardous Building Materials: Classified as Grade A safety glass where safety glazing is required.
• Clause F4 – Safety from Falling: Suitable for use in balustrades, overhead glazing, and other safety-critical applications.
• Clause G7 – Natural Light: Provides light diffusion while maintaining privacy in habitable spaces.
