Complete Waterproofing System: Swimming & Spa Pools — Tiled & Plastered Finishes
Description

The Technokolla Waterproofing System is a fully integrated, BRANZ Appraised, liquid-applied waterproofing solution, purpose-built for use beneath ceramic tiles, stone finishes, and mosaics in swimming pools and areas immersed in water.

Manufactured in Italy, the system is engineered to deliver long-term waterproof protection in submerged, high-pressure environments—ideal for residential and commercial pools, spas, and water features. It is especially suited to mosaic tile installations, where flexible adhesion, precise grouting, and a consistent surface finish are critical.

Technokolla offers a coordinated range of adhesives, waterproofing membranes, grouts, primers, and plaster, designed to work together as a complete system. Each component is formulated to withstand continuous water immersion, hydrostatic pressure, chlorine, salt, and thermal movement.

Whether installing full-size tiles or detailed mosaic finishes, the Technokolla system ensures reliable performance, structural integrity, and aesthetic longevity, backed by a 15-year product warranty when applied in accordance with the technical data sheet.

Rasolastik Waterproofing Membranes have been BRANZ Appraised for use as waterproofing membranes in swimming pool and submerged applications when applied over approved concrete substrates.

These membranes are suitable for use in:

  • Reinforced concrete swimming pools and spas, both indoor and outdoor
  • Tiled pool shells, plunge pools, and water features requiring full submersion
  • Residential and commercial pools, including pools in hotels, leisure centres, and multi-residential developments
  • Projects where waterproofing performance under hydrostatic pressure, chlorine exposure, and thermal cycling is essential

Rasolastik membranes comply with the New Zealand Building Code (NZBC) and have been tested in accordance with BRANZ Appraisal No. 541.

They provide excellent adhesion to properly prepared concrete substrates designed and constructed in line with NZBC requirements.

For full details on scope, limitations, and compliance, refer to BRANZ Appraisal No. 541.

Limitations on Use
  • A minimum grout joint width of 4mm is recommended in swimming pool applications to accommodate movement and ensure proper sealing between tiles.
  • Assessing the substrate is essential before any tiling work begins.
  • Use flexible adhesives and grouts that can withstand continuous submersion in alkaline environments.
  • Select waterproofing products that offer long-term durability and are resistant to ageing or degradation over time.
  • Always review the data sheets for the chosen tile or stone to confirm any limitations of use.
  • Waterproofing membranes must be applied only by Technokolla approved and trained applicators to ensure system integrity, warranty eligibility, and full compliance with the installation specification.
  • For full details on limitations, scope, and compliance requirements, refer to BRANZ Appraisal No. 541.
