• FUTUREWOOD® Composite Decking is suitable for residential and commercial exterior decking applications.
• All fixings must comply with NZS 3604:2011 Section 4 durability requirements. In Exposure Zone D, stainless steel fixings shall be used.
• FUTUREWOOD® Composite Decking with a sanded finish achieves a P5 Slip Resistance Classification and SRV 50 rating, making it suitable for areas where enhanced slip resistance is required, including around swimming pools and external access areas.
• Designed for applications with live loads up to 2 kPa. Higher load applications may be considered where the supporting structure has been specifically engineered to accommodate the decking system.
• Decking must not be used as part of a foundation or structural substructure system.
• Joist spacing must not exceed 450 mm centres and installation must allow for ventilation, drainage, and thermal expansion in accordance with the FUTUREWOOD® Installation Guide.

• Where microclimatic conditions apply, as defined in NZS 3604:2011, contact Mulford for project specific technical advice.
• FUTUREWOOD® Composite Decking must not be used as part of a foundation or structural substructure system.
• Where required by the New Zealand Building Code, FUTUREWOOD® Composite Decking shall be installed in accordance with relevant boundary separation and fire performance requirements.
• FUTUREWOOD® Composite Decking must not be installed directly onto a solid substrate, such as concrete, without provision for ventilation and drainage beneath the decking system.

The FUTUREWOOD® Composite Decking system will comply with or contribute to compliance with the following New Zealand Building Code performance clauses, where designed, installed, and maintained in accordance with Mulford technical literature and installation requirements:

FUTUREWOOD® Composite Decking has been available in the New Zealand market since 2012 and has been used in a range of residential and commercial exterior decking applications.

• Tested in accordance with GB2411-80 Shore D Hardness achieving a hardness value of 68.
• Shore D Hardness is a recognised method used to assess the surface hardness and indentation resistance of plastic and composite materials. The Shore D scale ranges from 0 to 100, with higher values indicating greater material hardness and resistance to indentation.
